Overview

Programme Overview

The programme is designed on a schedule that minimises disruption of work and personal pursuits. The programme is a combination of classroom and Technology aided learning platform. Participants will typically be on campus for a 5-day schedule of classroom learning every alternate month for 12 months, which would ideally be planned to include a weekend. (on Best effort basis)
In the month of no classroom connect, the classes will be conducted over a technology-aided learning platform. AMPBA is a rigorous and challenging programme. The schedule will include full days of teaching and evenings will be used for guest lectures, projects, and group work. Participants will be required to stay on campus during those classroom days.
The Advanced Management Programme in Business Analytics (AMPBA) is designed for those who want to transform their careers by expanding their existing thought process and refining their goals and objectives. This programme is aimed at working professionals aspiring for careers in data science, machine learning, and business analytics. The programme format makes it easy for professionals to continue their work and simultaneously achieve their learning objectives.

To be eligible to apply for the programme, the following criteria need to be fulfilled:

1.Academic Qualification: The applicant must have a Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering, Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, Science or an equivalent qualification in any discipline with exposure to mathematics/programming.

2.Work Experience: The applicant should possess at least 2 years of full-time work experience as on the date of admission (desired experience is 4-6 years or more).

3.Fresher's with the Analytic bent of mind and excellent academic credentials would also be considered.

Selection Process

The applicants required to take the online test; however, an applicant can request for exemption by submitting valid GMAT/ GRE/ CAT/ NMAT score before the test with the subject to approval. Applicants shortlisted based on the test result will be called for an interview. The interview may be conducted in person, over a video conference, a teleconference or a web/Internet-based tool. The shortlisting and interviews will be held on a rolling basis.

Selection Criteria

Admission Committee evaluates each applicant on several criteria to ensure that the participants selected for the programme are well-rounded individuals. Each component of the application and the interview is essential, and the selection of the participants for the programme will be made considering a combination of many factors, including:

1.Quality of relevant work experience such as taking significant responsibility.

2.Work experience in Analytics function and the commitment and passion for the function.

3.Evidence of professional success.

4.Likelihood of benefiting from the programme.

5.Business leadership potential, track-record, traits, attitude/mindset.

6.Motivation to participate in the programme.

7.Undergraduate degree performance.

8.Performance in the interview.

9.The criteria mentioned above are not in any specific order of importance.

Capstone Project

The Capstone Project is a student-led team project that offers a significant value proposition to organizations and the students. It provides a platform for students to apply their classroom learning to real business problems and leverage the power of data to provide valuable insights.

Salient features of the Capstone:

1.Student teams address a business issue currently being faced or considered by your organization and come out with actionable solutions/recommendations

2.The organization will provide the problem definition and a sample data set corresponding to the problem

3.Teams of students will bid for projects stating their proposed approach and methodology

4.The team is guided by our distinguished faculty, and monitored by the CBA program team

5.Commitment of time by student team (of 3 to 4 members) is about 450-500 man-hours across 3 months

6.Student teams maintain regular client interaction/ reporting

7.Two formal reviews are held by the client, faculty and the CBA program management all of which contribute to the grades allotted to the team

8.Final deliverables from the students will be a report based on the data analysis of a suitably developed model

There can be an intermediate deliverable where the initially developed model is taken and run by the company on the live data and feedback provided to student teams to enhance the model and write their final reports
