Interact with IoT devices is the easiest part for me. What I'm struggling is the first 2 items. For this I was thinking to use a cloud platform like AWS(https://aws.amazon.com/),Azure IOT(azure.microsoft.com) or WATSON IBM(https://www.ibm.com/watson/). Reading the docs of them I could not see how to perform the first task or how to register a new device via a mobile app. Any comments are more than welcome.
Also I was thinking building a database on a server that will manage the users, and sending/receiving messages from the IoT device/app as this app that I'm trying to build is not so data hungry(reading temperature and interacting with 2 relays)
P.S. I know about Blynk.io but the prices/conditions that they are offering is exceeding my budget. less

I have the Internet of Things Platform service bound to my java_buildpack application and I created a device type, javaDevice, and device id, javaDevice01.
Here's the environment variables for my iotf-service:

I am confuse about does IoT Hub stores data somewhere?i.e. Suppose i am passing room Temperature to IoT hub and want to store it in database for further use. How it's possible?I am clear on how device-to-cloud and cloud-to-device works with IoT hub.

I decided to use it and searched for developed projects. I found one decent project!
This project uses MQTT as communication protocol, Raspberry Pi<->Message Broker, and Message Broker<->Complex Event Manager.
My questions are the following:
1) Does the current version of the WSO2 Message Broker (v2.2.0) already support MQTT? Because I can't find documentation of this version supporting MQTT.
2) According to some references the WSO2 Message Broker v3.x.x will support MQTT, is that correct and when will this version be released?
3) Are there any other possibilities to use the WSO2 platform components in combination with the MQTT protocol?
4) Are there any other documented Internet of Things projects that use the WSO2 platform? less

I am confused a little bit. What is the difference between IoT and M2M?
what is difference between Azure Internet of things suites and Internet of things hubs and its usage? Please Tell me basics of how .NET works in Internet of things. Thanks for the help!

Are there any good working examples or tutorials for using AWS IoT to send/receive messages via WebSockets/MQTT in the browser (e.g: authenticating with AWS Cognito)? Thanks!

I was just looking for the new feature available in IoT Edge and now I'm completely confused between both components:
IoT Edge majorly supports local connectivity between device and gateway. What if this is not part of my requirement? Should I still upgrade to IoT Edge?
I don't see any performance improvements - Protocol Gateway vs Iot Edge
I understand that the answer could be a broader discussion but can anyone provide a simple explanation? less

I'm a high school student from South Korea who's doing project with Azure IoT Hub.
I am working on a project where a raspberry pi device is sending values to an Azure IoT Hub. I would like to save this data in Azure Table Storage as this data will be used by some other services (Azure WebApp for example).
So I tried to save raspberry pi values in Azure Table Storage. But when I add endpoints of IoT Hub, I just can use only blob storage container
of course i still don't understand about iot hub please don't look so bad.
In a nutshell
I want to send raspberry pi values to Azure Table Storage and not Blob Storage however only option available to me is Blob Storage when I am setting endpoints for Azure IoT Hub.
How to send values to Table Storage via Azure IoT Hub.
by any chance, my logic for Azure is completely wrong? less
